NEWS HOOKS Show Me The Money

A woman will be on a $20 bill. Women on global currency is trending. Show me the money, honey! You’ve come a long way, baby. (Cue a cliche of your own liking.) Money experts, feminists and those fighting for women’s rights now have a tie-in to breaking news. Play your bills and make your tips, tools and trade insights be known.

Speaking of money… the 2016 Presidential Election has some interesting money-backed hopefuls. This includes Donald Trump and Jeb Bush. These announcements have dominated the news so if you have a tie-in, use it. They may not be obvious. In fact, many people are speaking out about music, presidential elections and the music candidates use to evoke emotion. Neil Young is speaking out telling Trump to lump it and that ‘rockin’ in the free world’ means backing Bernie Sanders, not Donald Trump. (See, good one for Sanders and an ole’ ‘rocker.’)

Money conversations raise and lower emotional outbursts. If you’re a counselor or coach, use behavior and emotion around money as news hooks for the media. They love to know how people can address consumer spending and saving.

We live in a capitalist culture. It’s all about the money, honey. And don’t you forget it.
